  Before the " Big Bang" we had friends, Will and Grace, Frazier, and the Simpsons But in my opinion " The Big Bang Theory" was unique, it made being a nerd cool. and suddenly kids every where didn't have to be Rebels, in leather jackets to be hip with the girls.

  Thanks to the big bank theory, a guy was no longer judged by the car he drove, nor the cigarettes he smoked, instead the " chicks" we're more interested if the guy could answer Einsteins special theory of relativity, with special reference to the constant 3x/c.

  The Rebel, who actually was in all truth, and always will be more of a nerd than a rebel.

  in fact just like the watchtower, i've no idea what they were writing about half the time.

  all that rubbish about " i am the walrus" and eleanor rigby keeping her teeth in a jam jar or something, and what "lucy the in the sky with diamonds" means i do not know!

  anyway, i mention the above because shortly after i quit meetings, beattle loving brother, ian x also, stopped attending meetings, and i watched him transform himself in to a, scruffy bearded, hippyish, beer drinking slob, ( translation a great guy) .

  in fact just like the Watchtower, I've no idea what they were writing about half the time. All that rubbish about " I am the Walrus" and Eleanor Rigby keeping her teeth in a jam jar or something, and what "Lucy the in the Sky with Diamonds" means I do NOT know!

  Anyway, I mention the above because shortly after I quit meetings, Beattle loving brother, Ian X also, stopped attending meetings, and I watched him transform himself in to a, scruffy bearded, hippyish, beer drinking slob, ( translation a great guy) . I enjoyed widening his musical taste, and introduced him to Floyd and dark side, Bowies Ziggy, and others. So you can " IMAGINE " my dismay, when I met Ian X yesterday, clean shaven, dressed very witnishish, with creases in his trousers, . He informed me he had gone back to the meetings and hoped to survive Armeggedon. I bet his also back listening to that Lennon and McCartney noncence that makes no sense, and has given up on Pink Floyds dark side, and Bowies Ziggy. I for one didn't envy him.

  Any comments on the above? how can a person break free from the Watchtower, and in this case I believe not go back for family reasons, but because he wants to survive Armeggedon.

  Any thought behind your " Avatar"

  i think that's the correct phrase?

  anyway when i first came here, that little picture that "the rebel" hides behind, was a self portrait of a very sad man, who simply had too much knowledge.

  now i feel after 7 months here, i should repaint that " avetor" give some happiness to the eyes, and a contented smile to the lips.. in short my " avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge.

  Well "crazy - flickering - light" I gave you a thumbs up, because your name is like the " Sex Pistols " " The Grateful Dead " it scares people. Much like the name " Jehovers Witnesses" which is why when we knocked on doors we introduced ourselves as " bible students" ...pathetic, wasn't it, but thought provoking ? Introducing ourselves as " Jehovers Witnesses" was not encouraged, and I wonder why :-) ?

  Maybe our message was more destructive than " The Sex Pistols" and " The Grateful Dead" that's irony, if you think about it.

  In short my " Avetor" was a self portrait of a man with too much knowledge. A sad man, a lonely man, having to discard all that watchtower " knowledge" and needing a new journey of discovery and "truth" in the hope of finding a more meaningful reason to live.

  How about you guys, did you put any thought in to your, username or Avetor?

The result was you received 76 likes and only 3 dislikes....not that I give to much stock to likes and dislikes :-) but in your case recently you would appear to be the most likable member on the board.

  Who cares?

  The first time I was in distress with the watchtower, I was fortunate to find this place. My ego thought ,i was somehow special, that my posts were reaching a worldwide audience, and most of all I felt at ease, maybe HOME is a better word. As I continued to post, to reach the "world "with my message the J.Ws are a cult, my favorite posters, my great teachers disappeared.

  Whilst this often saddened me, I have now re-evaluated my thinking, O.K I know " re-evaluated our thinking" is watchtoer loaded language meaning " They were talking crap." But my " re-evaluated" thinking is more genuine, and my conclusion is " posters" come and go here, but some and I am not talking about myself, have touched our hearts and minds in a very positive way, then they disappear, and a new, a real " Over Lapping Generation" of posters appears.

  What does all this mean? I think it means posters come him, they learn, and for many that leave the board, we should rejoice that they were healed, and no longer need post. We can't all be doctors looking after patients.

  i hope slim hasn't left the forum, ( again) but i noticed his last post was post 10,ooo which is quite an achievement and a great statistic to say " au revoir" on.

  ( yes i studied compulsory french at school, but " au revoir" is all i can remember so i may as well use it) .

  anyway now for the " slimboyfat" challenge, can anybody here name past or present posters that have made over 10,000 posts?

Yes I admit this may be a boaring thread, or more to the point it probably is a boaring thread, nonetheless I think joining the 10,000 posts thread does warrant a certain recognition.
